Jubilance Gate

Designed by Oakland artist Fernando Reyes and fabricated by DEKA Fabrication, the “Jubilation” Gate at the Denizen Apartments transforms a simple courtyard entrance into a vibrant work of art. With its patina-steel, powder-coated steel, and tempered glass panels, the gate layers color, pattern, and light to create a welcoming focal point while still providing privacy and security. Commissioned by Signature Development Group as part of Oakland’s public-art program, this custom metalwork shows how functional boundaries can become signature features—defining a space, amplifying a brand, and elevating everyday passage into an artistic experience.
